With autumn heading into winter, finding pockets of good weather for little adventures is important - so we headed out to Shakespear regional park for a day of easy hiking...
A few weeks ago we opted for an impromptu run at the Wairere Falls trail leading from just outside of Te Aroha to the top of the tallest waterfall in the North Island of New Zealand (153m).
The Pinnacles walk in the Coromandel is getting near on a kiwi classic. We decided to put some of our favourite gear to the test and tackle the 6 hour return track last weekend - it's a deceptively short 3.5km from the carpark at the end of Kauaeranga Valley road, but the kicker was the ascent to 759m above sea level.
